The federal government solar discount (STCs)

Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) is the measure that determines how much the Australian government will discount the cost of a small-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) system to the buyer.

The number of certificates attached to a solar system depends on geographical location, installation date, and the amount of electricity in megawatt hours (MWh).

Once created and validated, these certificates act as a form of currency and can be sold to recoup a portion of the cost of purchasing and installing the system.

Solstra uses a registered STC trading house to create, validate and register STCs, allowing us to simply provide the STC amount as a hassle-free upfront discount to customers.
